Curtain Cleaning in Ireland
Curtains hold more dust than anything else in a room and are the thing least often cleaned, usually because taking them down looks like more trouble than it is worth. The method follows the fabric and the lining: interlined and heavy curtains are cleaned in place, because washing them shrinks the lining at a different rate to the face fabric and the drop never hangs the same again.

Frequently asked questions
- Why not just wash them at home?
- Lined curtains are the problem: the face fabric and the lining shrink at different rates, and the drop is permanently uneven afterwards. Unlined cotton is usually fine, anything interlined is not.
- Can curtains be cleaned without taking them down?
- Yes, and for heavy interlined curtains it is the preferred method. They are cleaned on the pole, which avoids handling and rehanging a very heavy drop.
- Do you do blinds as well?
- Yes. Venetians are done slat by slat, and fabric or roller blinds are treated more like upholstery. Both are usually cleaned at the same visit as the curtains.
