Cookie Policy
Last updated: April 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how Connect Cleaner ("we", "our", "us") uses cookies and similar technologies when you visit connectcleaner.net (the "platform"). It should be read together with our Privacy Policy, which explains how we process the data collected via these technologies.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device when you visit. They allow the website to remember your actions and preferences (such as your session, language choice, or cookie settings) across pages and visits. We also use similar technologies such as localStorage and sessionStorage; for simplicity, this policy refers to all of them as "cookies".
2. Categories of cookies we use
We use three categories of cookies. Only the essentialcategory is active by default. The others are set only after you grant consent via the cookie banner.
2.1 Essential cookies (always on)
Required for the platform to function. Without these cookies, features such as signing in, staying signed in, or remembering your language preference would not work. Under the ePrivacy Directive these are exempt from consent because they are "strictly necessary" to provide the service you explicitly requested.
- Authentication: Supabase session tokens keep you signed in securely.
- Security: CSRF and rate-limit tokens protect your account.
- Preferences: language / locale selection, cookie-banner choice.
2.2 Analytics cookies (consent required)
Help us understand how the platform is used so we can improve it. We only set these after you accept them in the cookie banner. Disabling them does not affect platform functionality.
- Google Analytics 4 (if enabled) — aggregated usage statistics. IP addresses are anonymised before storage. Data retention: 14 months.
2.3 Marketing cookies (consent required)
Used to measure the performance of our advertising and to show you relevant ads on other platforms (remarketing). Set only after you accept them.
- Meta Pixel (if enabled) — measures ad conversions and supports audiences for Facebook / Instagram campaigns.
- Google Ads (if enabled) — conversion tracking and remarketing for Google search and display campaigns.
3. How we obtain and record your consent
The first time you visit the platform, a cookie banner is displayed. You can:
- Accept all cookie categories,
- Reject all non-essential cookies, or
- Customise your choice category by category.
Your choice is stored in your browser (key cc_cookie_consent_v1) and is logged server-side in our immutable consent log (with IP address and user-agent) so we can prove the choice you made, as required by GDPR Art. 7. We also signal your choice to Google tags in real time using Google Consent Mode v2; tags receive "denied" by default and switch to "granted" only for the categories you accept.
4. Changing or withdrawing your consent
You can change your choice at any time:
- Clear your browser's cookies for this site — the banner will appear again on your next visit.
- Open the cookie settings link in the site footer (coming soon) to re-open the preference panel.
- Use your browser's built-in settings to block cookies globally. Note that blocking essential cookies will break sign-in.
5. Detailed cookie inventory
The specific cookies set on your device depend on which categories you accept and which features you use. Typical cookies include:
| Name | Category | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|
| sb-access-token | Essential | Supabase auth session | 1 hour |
| sb-refresh-token | Essential | Supabase auth refresh | 30 days |
| NEXT_LOCALE | Essential | Stores your language preference | 1 year |
| cc_cookie_consent_v1 | Essential | Remembers your cookie preferences | 1 year |
| _ga, _ga_* | Analytics | Google Analytics 4 — user identification | up to 2 years |
| _fbp | Marketing | Meta Pixel — ad conversion tracking | 90 days |
| _gcl_* | Marketing | Google Ads — conversion linker | 90 days |
6. Third-party cookies and sub-processors
Some cookies are set by third parties we work with. These providers act as independent controllers or processors for the data collected via their cookies:
- Supabase (Supabase Inc, infrastructure in the EU region) — authentication cookies. Acts as our data processor.
- Subscription billing partner(to be named before cleaner subscriptions launch) — a Merchant-of-Record billing provider. Will set cookies only within the provider's checkout overlay. Acts as an independent controller for payment transactions.
- Google LLC — Analytics and Ads (when enabled). Independent controller.
- Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd — Meta Pixel (when enabled). Independent controller.
Each provider's own cookie and privacy policy applies to the cookies they set. Links to their policies are available on their websites.
7. "Do Not Track" and Global Privacy Control
The platform does not currently respond to "Do Not Track" signals because no consistent industry standard exists. We do respect the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal where supported by your browser: if GPC is detected, we treat it as a withdrawal of consent for analytics and marketing cookies.
8. Changes to this Cookie Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy to reflect changes in the cookies we use or applicable law. Material changes are announced on this page; the "Last updated" date above always reflects the current version. If the categories of cookies change in a way that requires new consent, the cookie banner will be shown to you again.
