Privacy Policy

Connect Cleaner ("we", "our", or "us") is a product operated by LUCKY STUDIOS LTDA, a company incorporated in Brazil. The Connect Cleaner platform connects clients with independent cleaning professionals in Ireland. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal data when you use our platform.

Connect Cleaner does not process payments between clients and cleaners. All payment arrangements are made directly between the parties.

1. Who We Are & Legal Basis

The data controller under GDPR Art. 4(7) is:

As the controller is established outside the EU, we have appointed an EU representative under GDPR Art. 27:

We process your data on the following legal bases (GDPR Art. 6):

  • Contract performance — to create and manage your account and match you with cleaning professionals or job opportunities.
  • Legal obligation — to comply with applicable Irish and EU law (for example, responding to valid requests from authorities).
  • Legitimate interests — to maintain platform security, verify the identity of cleaning professionals to protect users, prevent fraud, and improve our service.
  • Consent — for marketing communications and non-essential cookies, which you may withdraw at any time.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly, including:

  • Name, email address, and phone number when you register
  • Profile information such as your address, photo, and bio
  • For cleaners: identity document submitted during onboarding for platform-safety verification
  • Messages and communications between clients and cleaners on the platform
  • Booking details, service history, and reviews
  • Subscription billing information (managed by our payment processor — we do not store card data)

We also collect technical data automatically, including:

  • IP address, browser type, and device information
  • Pages visited and interactions with the platform
  • Session data via essential cookies

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Create and manage your account on the platform
  • Match clients with available independent cleaning professionals
  • Send booking confirmations, reminders, and service communications
  • Verify the identity of cleaning professionals for platform safety and fraud prevention
  • Process subscription payments for cleaner accounts
  • Investigate disputes and enforce our Terms of Service
  • Comply with legal obligations under Irish and EU law

4. Data Sharing & Sub-Processors

We share your data only as strictly necessary to provide the service:

  • With other users: your name and relevant booking details are shared with the cleaning professional or client you are matched with.
  • With sub-processors: we use trusted third parties to operate the platform. Each is bound by a Data Processing Agreement (GDPR Art. 28) and processes data only on our instructions, except where listed as an independent controller for their own service.
  • Legal requirements: we may disclose data when required by law or to protect the rights of the platform and its users.

The sub-processors we currently use:

  • Supabase(Supabase Inc) — authentication, database and file storage. Infrastructure located in the EU region (Ireland). Processor.
  • Vercel(Vercel Inc) — web hosting and content delivery. Processor.
  • Paddle(Paddle.com Market Limited) — Merchant of Record for cleaner subscription billing. Paddle processes billing data (card details, invoice addresses, VAT) as an independent controller for the payment transaction. Paddle is the legal seller of the subscription and handles all VAT/tax obligations. Only billing-related data (email, payment method) is shared with Paddle; your profile, service history and messaging content are not.

When we enable advertising measurement on the landing pages, additional providers (Google LLC for Google Analytics / Ads and Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd for Meta Pixel) may act as independent controllers for that data. They are set only after you consent to marketing cookies — see our Cookie Policy.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

5. Your Rights

Under the GDPR (and the Irish Data Protection Act 2018) you have the right to:

  • Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Rectification — correct inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Erasure — request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten")
  • Restriction — limit how we process your data in certain circumstances
  • Portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format
  • Object — object to processing based on legitimate interests
  • Withdraw consent — at any time, for processing based on consent

You can exercise your rights directly from your profile settings (Export / Delete account), or by contacting our Data Protection Officer at privacy@connectcleaner.net.

You have the right to lodge a complaint with a data-protection supervisory authority:

  • EU / EEA users (GDPR): with the supervisory authority of your country of habitual residence, place of work, or place of the alleged infringement. In Ireland this is the Data Protection Commission at dataprotection.ie.
  • Brazilian users (LGPD, Law 13.709/2018): with the Autoridade Nacional de Proteção de Dados (ANPD) at gov.br/anpd.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active. When you close your account, we delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by applicable law. In particular, billing and fiscal records are kept for the period required by Brazilian tax law (generally 5 years, and up to 10 years for specific social-security and labour-related records) applicable to LUCKY STUDIOS LTDA as a Brazilian legal entity. Identity verification documents are deleted within 90 days of account closure.

7. International Transfers

Our platform infrastructure is hosted within the European Economic Area (EEA, primarily the Supabase EU region in Ireland). The data controller (LUCKY STUDIOS LTDA) is established in Brazil, which means personnel authorised to access the platform for administration and support may do so from Brazil. Under GDPR Chapter V, such access constitutes a transfer to a third country.

Brazil is not currently the subject of an EU Commission adequacy decision under GDPR Art. 45. Transfers to Brazil are therefore made under the appropriate safeguards of GDPR Art. 46, specifically the Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2021/914, signed between LUCKY STUDIOS LTDA and its EU-based sub-processors, together with supplementary measures (encryption in transit and at rest, access logging, and least-privilege access). A copy of the SCCs is available on request at privacy@connectcleaner.net.

8. Cookies

We use three categories of cookies: essential (always on, needed for the platform to work), analytics (help us improve the platform), and marketing (measure ad performance). The analytics and marketing categories are only set after you consent via the cookie banner, and Google Consent Mode v2 ensures any Google tag receives your choice in real time.

9. Children

The platform is not directed at anyone under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If you believe a minor has registered, please contact us immediately at privacy@connectcleaner.net.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify registered users by email at least 15 days before material changes take effect. The current version is always available on this page.
